10th November 2018 - Primus Hotel Sydney extends its territory as the winner of the 2017 Luxury HeritageHotel Award in Australia, to be the 2018 Continent Winner across both Australia and Oceania.

Held at the AYANA Resort & Spa, Bali, the 12th annual World Luxury Hotel Awards gala ceremony, presented awards in over 100 categories on a country, regional, continent and global basis, to participants from luxury hotels and resorts from over 100 countries.

Original features such as the 8-metre high scagliola columns and panelled skylight that were concealed by an enclosed Mezzanine level during the 1960s, were restored to their 1930s Art Deco glory during the heritage sensitive adaption, reopening the former Ratings Chamber, now the hotel’s grand lobby, to the public.

In 2018, Primus Hotel Sydney was invited to participate in Sydney Open - Australia's premier open building event that unlocks the doors to more than 60 of the city's most treasured and architecturally significant buildings, usually off limits to the public – and was visited by 1,600 ticket holders, the sixth most popular building in the program.

General Manager, Daniel Muhor has said that the hotel’s high-end service reflects the building’s premium design and heritage, to provide guests with a memorable experience. “We have undoubtedly one of the most striking interiors in Sydney, no other hotel in this city can boast of a lobby as grand as ours. Guests are taken aback from the moment they walk in and we like to further impress them with our hospitality.”
